Lego™ Workshops
Mindscale Learning Inc. classes cover a wide range of curriculum targets within science, technology, engineering and math in a fun, hands-on and engaging way. Our solutions are designed to encourage students use their imagination, try out their problem-solving skills and cooperate with others. Each contributes to the process of designing, building and testing solutions. Students are encouraged to ask questions, get involved with other students in the class, and participate in classroom discussions. At the end of class, students take home and keep the parts(included in workshop fee).
Mindscale Learning Inc. programs are offered in a variety of formats such as:
- After-school Enrichment Programs
- In-Class Workshops
- Summer & Vacation Programs
- Special Events
Mindscale Learning Inc. currently offers two programs:
LEGO™ Science and Robotics Explorers (Basic Level)
This fun filled workshop stimulates Cognitive Skills, demonstrates Applied Science, Math and Engineering through hands-on classroom projects. Children experiment with a variety of Lego™ TECHNIC™ parts including Gears, Pulleys, Levers, Motors, Sensor, Beams by building working models such as Windmill, Car, Robot etc. that incorporate various scientific principles (electricity, energy, force, friction, pressure, motion and speed…). Students are also introduced to the very basic of robotics and sensors using Lego™ Mindstorms™ by learning how to construct simple programs (using visual tools) that control the models they build in class.
In addition, classroom Math and Science concepts are incorporated in projects and discussed in a cordial way that keeps scientific exploration fun and ceasy to learn. As a part of the workshop, students have group competitions as well as individual challenges. All students are assigned roles and are encouraged to participate.

LEGO™ Robotics and Mechatronics (Intermediate to Advanced Level)
This exciting Lego™ workshop combines engineering, software and creativity for budding engineers and scientists. Students build Robots and other Electro-Mechanical contraptions and learn to control them via software using LEGO™ Mindstorms™. They also learn in detail various feedback mechanisms by using sensors (Light / Touch / Temperature) as well as motor control, gearing, etc. Software engineering concepts and basic algorithms are introduced and they create several programs (using visual tool) that illustrate different aspect of robotics and mechatronics and sensory feedback.
Computer Aided 3-D modeling is also introduced in this workshop. LEGO™ MINDSTORMS™ is used as the platform for teaching. As a part of the workshop, students have group competitions as well as individual challenges. In addition, classroom Math and Science concepts are incorporated into projects and discussed in a cordial way that keeps scientific exploration exciting.
